Community Information
The City of Redmond, Oregon, incorporated on July 6, 1910,
is located on the eastern side of Oregon's Cascade Mountain
Range, and is considered the geographical heart of Central
Oregon, within easy access to a multitude of recreational
opportunities.
This High Desert community is located on a flat plateau, at
an elevation of 3,077 feet above sea level. Redmond is 15
miles north of Bend, the county seat for Deschutes County;
144 miles from Portland; 129 miles from Salem, the State
Capital; and 126 miles from Eugene.
The City of Redmond is the operator of the region's only
commercial airline service airport, Roberts Field. Redmond
is a progressive full-service municipality and is considered
one of the fastest growing industrial and residential
communities in the State of Oregon, currently hosting a
population of 21,109 residents; the growth rate continues to
be about 8% per year. Redmond School District encompasses
556 square miles and operates 6 elementary schools along
with 2 middle schools and 1 high school.
We definitely have seasons but an overall mild climate that
enables you to recreate year round. The area receives an
average 300 days of sunshine a year and only 12 inches of
moisture, mostly snow in the winter. Deep mountain snows
provide the water for our recreation paradise.
