The last few articles we have been discussing how our employees have defined each letter of our ‘Build Smart’ tagline. ‘T’ stands for Transparency.

Our employees picked the word Transparency because they are comforted to know that we when they represent Quail Homes that what information we provide is authentic, real, truthful and timely. I feel that transparency is the essence of who we are and what keeps us together.

It is real important for us to provide true information in real time so that good decisions can be made. Does that mean that we are always right? No. Does it mean that it is always positive? No

What I feel is important is that we do confront our obstacles head on. We value the relationships with our clients, trade partners and fellow employees that we prefer to provide all news both good and bad in real time.  Is it easy? No… Valued? Yes

It takes guts to look someone in the eyes and tell them something that they don’t want to hear. I value that.  New home construction has its ups and downs. We prefer to smooth it out with accurate and timely information. To be able to do that we have to be in command of what we are doing. True Transparency does expose your weaknesses. That is why I like that our employees picked the word. They want to improve and aren’t afraid to be transparent. Maybe that does say something about our culture?

I have taken great pride in observing how our employers have defined ‘Build Smart’. We archive all of our ‘Ask the Builder’ articles on our website under ‘Learn More’. It is a great resource.  Feel free to go there.

The next series of article will describe each word associated to “Build Smart”.
